COBOURG, Ontario - Author Patricia Neary announces a new marketing campaign for her 2013 thriller, "Judas Playing Field" (published by iUniverse), which tells the story of a serial killer and the psychiatrist who pursues him.

When psychiatrist Ellen Smith is kidnapped by an escaped serial killer she had interviewed several years before, the race for her rescue begins. As detectives Dan and Jim pursue serial killer Roger, they begin to uncover a connection between his murder victims and the institution from which he escaped.

While Ellen is held hostage, the case unravels as she looks into the eyes of the person who assisted Roger in his escape from the mental institution. In this sequel to 2012's "Breach of Sanity," Neary offers a raw look at the inner workings of the mind of a serial killer and the lives shattered by his actions.

Although "Judas Playing Field" is fictional, it is Neary's hope that the story inspires women to make themselves aware of their surroundings, no matter the circumstances.

"Roger is a charming, attractive man with an affinity for violence due to a sadistic upbringing," says Neary. "The book will definitely make women think twice before going home with a handsome stranger."
