Pam Raworth explores the fantastic world of orbs in her new full-color book, "Amazing Orbs: Orbs and Other Light Anomalies" (published by Balboa Press).

Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines "orb" as "something (such as a planet, the sun, or the moon) that is shaped like a ball," and secondary definitions identify orbs as spherical objects that are often celestial in nature or symbols of power and justice.

Raworth was inspired to create "Amazing Orbs" after she noticed that orbs and other light anomalies were showing up in many of her photographs; images she shares in the pages of "Amazing Orbs."

"The orbs have beauty, color, luminosity, patterns and quite often quality of detail, which I find amazing," she says.

An excerpt from "Amazing Orbs":

"There are books on the subject of orbs and these books offer good explanations but I am beginning to discover that they can have more profound meanings for each and every one of us. Do a lot of the orbs have messages, healing properties and do they help us at this moment in time on earth?"
