Author Tikvah Bat Moshe believes that pain and joy bind all people together. Having had her own run-ins with trauma, she was inspired to deliver hope to the masses and assure others that they are not alone. She aims to accomplish this through her new book, "Out of Egypt: A Cry for Justice and a Search for Identity" (published by AuthorHouse).

"Out of Egypt" follows Adira Bat Avraham, a woman struggling to reconcile her Christian faith and Jewish identity. Adira, faced with numerous hardships, sets down a warpath with her inner demons in an attempt to discover her true faith and once again love the world she lives in.

Moshe is hopeful that her book will challenge religious idealism and urge readers to think about their own faith and ideals.

"'Out of Egypt' acknowledges the human cry for deliverance, redemption and justice," Moshe says. "It validates human desire, the human voice and the human heart."

An excerpt from "Out of Egypt":

"I think in many ways Nicolas was wrong when he shouted at me from across his desk, 'Adira, you are not Jewish!' I think Nicolas failed to understand the significant power the Jewish identity held in my promise for redemption. In spite of genetics or fragmented genealogies, the core of who I was had been birthed in Judaism."
