In ODYSSEY OF DESIRE, author MLD Bell invites readers to embark on a spellbinding journey back in time that lets them explore love in the light of duty, tradition and some of life's greatest challenges.

The life of young Susannah irrevocably changes upon the death of her parents. She is left in the care of her guardian, Pierre, a man in his early 20's. Pierre arranges for them to be married believing it is in Susannah's best interest. Because of her youth, Pierre places Susannah in a convent until she is old enough to honor her marriage vows. What begins as an act of duty soon blossoms into true love.

Yet, life and love are never simple. Susannah and Pierre find themselves struggling against the vicissitudes of distance and the schemes of people who are determined to keep them apart. From a Mississippi plantation to a convent in New Orleans, from Paris to the shores of the Caribbean, their odyssey unfolds into a story of unwavering desire and a love that defies all odds.

ODYSSEY OF DESIRE transports readers to an earlier era, a time charged with passion where two people discover and celebrate a profound and lasting love.
