Author Ravery D. Wesley was deeply troubled with how so many children are growing up without their fathers. When he asked these children about their circumstances, all they managed to say was, "I don't know." The look on their faces when they said so broke his heart. It inspired him to write "Abused Men Walking Out, Leaving Their Kids Behind" (published by Xlibris), which tells a story that presents a different side to why men are walking out on their kids.

Wesley's story begins with four boys who grew up as close friends. They get to witness how women or their friend's mothers in their neighborhood are being abused by men. These experiences left an indelible mark on the boys, playing back in their minds time after time, so they each swore to treat their women with love and respect. But nothing is ever easy and things change. They never thought for one second that women would have abusive behavior toward men.

"Abused Men Walking Out, Leaving Their Kids Behind" is about men being abused, be it physical, sexual, verbal or emotional, behind the closed doors of their homes. It tells of these men's struggles, their trials and tribulations, to not give up, to not to walk out and leave their children behind.

"Men must understand that as head and provider in the home in today's society we must learn to make decisions to stay in the home as mothers do to raise our children instead of being so quick to walkout leaving our children behind," says Wesley. Through "Abused Men Walking Out, Leaving Their Kids Behind," he gives readers an inside look at what could be going on behind the scenes, showing a possible reason as for why many fathers are walking out, leaving their children behind.
