When author Nicholas Aggor noticed his children were bringing home bad grades in math in the fifth grade, he quit his job as a senior engineer and started work on a math teaching series stemming from his experience with engineering quality controls. From that initiative comes his new book, "How to Make Successful Students in One Year - A Model for the World: Over 200 Inconvenient Truths" (published by AuthorHouse).

The techniques presented in "How to Make Successful Students in One Year - A Model for the World" are the same ones in which Aggor found success with his own children, who are now studying pre-medicine. Within the pages of his new book, Aggor outlines the methods he used with his children in hopes of helping other parents, students, and teachers. The Common Core curriculum is not the solution.

Aggor includes more than 200 of what he calls "inconvenient truths" in his book. This includes his practical programs that he says can transform all students into virtual "walking calculators," a formula for making successful students and his belief that homework should be done at school as an equalizer for the success of poor and disadvantaged students. His book shows how every student can develop what he calls 'super brain.' He says that if students can recall during tests what they already understand, all students will easily pass any test. His book also shows academic retention skills for immediate success for all students. Students also perform poorly due to academic deficits and his new book has the solutions.

"The failures of innocent and voiceless students year-after-year for over fifty years is not acceptable," Aggor says. "That, I submit, is a huge social injustice and a crime - a violation of civil rights in education. It threatens the very basis of our society and the tenure of our republic."
