In "Afflatus: A Collection of Dreams and Their Gnostic Influence on Human Evolution" (published by Balboa Press), author Trudy Fox presents a collection of historical events and argues that, through spiritual intervention, dreams have shaped the events of history and will continue to do so in the future. Fox seeks to inspire readers to pursue the insight, guidance and ideas that may be transmitted during the sleep state by sharing stories about ordinary people who achieved extraordinary things through their dreams.

It was, in fact, a spiritual intervention that compelled Fox to write "Afflatus" in what she calls her "Saint Augustine" moment:

"Saint Augustine's conversion to Christianity is often pinpointed to a moment in a garden when a child's voice said, 'Take and read,' whereby I was compelled to take my Oxford English Dictionary and open it. It opened up at the very page of the title of which Spirit wished me to write about. The word was: Afflatus. The impression I then received was simply to research it and write it. Spirit impressed upon me that it was important for mankind to know of their hidden influence in our daily lives."

"Afflatus" argues for the direct relationship between science and faith and provides evidence that science and faith are in fact not separate but exist on the same spectrum and derive from the same divine creative source from which everything originated. Fox quotes Acts 15:18 as proof for this claim: "Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world."
