New Series Based on CASTLE's Derrick Storm Novels Heading to ABC

TVGuide.com reports that the ABC network is currently developing a new series based on Derrick Storm's best-selling mystery novels.

According to the report, Missing scribe Gregory Poirier will pen the pilot and will executive-produce alongside Castle creator Andrew Marlowe and his wife, executive producer Terri Edda Miller. The hero of the fictional works, Derrick Storm, is described as a spy who helps the CIA with secret missions.

Castle will return to the ABC fall line up for a seventh season beginning Monday, Sept. 29 at 10/9c on ABC.

About ABC's CASTLE:

When viewers first met famous mystery novelist Richard Castle he was creatively blocked. But when the NYPD questioned him in connection with a series of murders staged to imitate crime scenes from his books, Castle found inspiration in NYPD Detective Kate Beckett. Once that initial case was solved, Castle and Beckett continued to investigate strange homicides in New York, combining Castle's writer intuition and Beckett's creative detective work. Over the years they did more than just solve crimes though -- they fell in love, started dating and then finally decided to get married.
