BLOOMINGTON, Ind.

When author Rose Northfield finally allowed God his full reign into her heart, she was experiencing one of the most difficult times in her life. Addicted to drugs, Northfield prostituted herself to make money and let her boyfriends abuse and use her. She had all but given up hope before she submitted herself to God.

Northfield's new memoir, "Undone: My Path Home" (published by WestBow Press), chronicles her phoenix-like rise, detailing how she overcame hardships and abuse to live a life fully in God.

The cycle of pain and abuse began after Northfield was raped by a long-time friend and trusted neighbor at the age of 15. Savior and confidant to Northfield of that fateful evening, Brian, had two years later become the father of her children. At the beginning of their relationship, Brian seemed to be an upstanding man, but he soon proved to be abusive and cruel.

After leaving Brian, Northfield still struggled with a heroin addiction and went through several more disastrous relationships before she put her full reliance in God. Through his guidance and love, Northfield met Sebastian, a good and honest man, and found the strength to let go of her pain. She hopes her book will fully emphasize the redeeming grace of God.

"No matter how far gone we may seem to ourselves or others," Northfield says, "it'll never be too far for God to reach out and hold us. There is always hope as long as there is Jesus."
