According to the Gallup Economy and Personal Finance Survey, the average age of people retiring is 61. At first that may seem reasonable, but the increase is quite rapid when one considers the number has steadily increased in the last decade or two from 57.

In the dire economic times we live in today it is not surprising that the age of retirement is increasing; yet this is only one of the many negatives due to financial problems facing today's youth.
