NAPLES, Fla.

As a former educator, author Judith Sauer has seen a lot of non-acceptance among children. Her new juvenile fiction book, "Mrs. Laiceps-A Special Lady: A Lady Full of Surprises and Amazing Feats" (published by AuthorHouse), teaches children the importance of accepting others who are different.

Mrs. Laiceps is a special lady who does everything backwards and has a lot of fun doing it. She wears her dresses and hats backwards and she walks, runs and even rides her unicycle backwards. Mrs. Laiceps becomes well-known in town for her amusing behavior and how different she is from everyone else - some people are concerned for her welfare too.

"The lesson can be learned that we can love those who are different, and everyone can contribute positive things whether it is through their acts, the way they dress, their kind disposition and huge smiles, or just the fact they can bring a smile to our faces," Sauer says.

A fun and fast moving fictional book, "Mrs. Laiceps-A Special Lady" is for children preschool age through third grade. It is written in poetic form and utilizes "predictive text" where children can anticipate and chime in to the reading process.

"Here is an example of how everyone can contribute to their community," Sauer says, "even when they are very different from everyone else."
