Monroe, N.Y.

An unlikely friendship forms between two very different animals in author James and Marie-Paule Mahoney's new children's book, "Molly and Babou" (published by AuthorHouse).

No one would have thought that Molly, a half-blind rescue puppy from Jamaica, and Babou, a lonely black bear, could be friends, but when Babou turns up at Molly's house, the two bond over their shared loneliness. The two play and roam the forest together, but Molly keeps their relationship a secret from her stepsisters, Rags and Pupsie.

When Babou goes into hibernation and returns with a sick, orphaned bear cub, he begs Molly for help. Will Molly help Babou, even if it means revealing their friendship to her sisters?

Packed with beautiful illustrations, "Molly and Babou" tells an animal story that touches on the importance of friendship. The authors hope to delight their young readers and inspire them to see nature and wildlife in a new light.
