STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. - Lawrence Ahuruonye marks his publishing debut with the release of his autobiography titled "Drama of my Life - Through Youth and War" (published by Xlibris). This new book offers snapshots of the author's not so ordinary life, his polygamous family, overcoming great hardships and, ultimately, making his dreams come true.

Ahuruonye was born in a small village southeast of Nigeria in 1947. His early years were marked with difficulty. His parents did not have much to offer him and his community was severely underdeveloped, lacking in public amenities. Ahuruonye notes drinking his first near clean water when he was 7 years old. His greatest challenge, however, would come at the outbreak of the Biafra/Nigeria War. It was a time of suffering and turmoil that tested the author's spirit and, ultimately, moved him to pursue a new life in the United States.

In "Drama of my Life - Through Youth and War," Ahuruonye not only talks about his personal struggles but also that of Nigeria. He gives voice to the many people in Nigeria who are still confronted with problems involving governance, youth development and social and economic justice. Above all, he relates, through his account, a powerful message of hope.

"My book conveys a message of hope, resilience and tenacity," the author says. "It is a book that challenges a country to care and provide for its people."
