GROVER, Mo.

Robert McClelland, an ordained Presbyterian minister, educator and author, was once asked by one of his students, "Dr. Bob, what do you mean when you use the word 'God'?" This question led McClelland on a journey of discovery and faith.

McClelland's quest now comes to a close with his new book "Will the Real Jesus Please Stand Up!: A Skeptical Believer's Guide to the Reality of Christ" (published by Trafford Publishing), being the end result.

"Given the interest in, and response of, our society to "Star Wars," "Harry Potter" and the "Vampire Diaries" - all of which offer a narrative depicting good and evil - it is clear that the narrative of Jesus offered by today's Church to declining membership, is not able to attract and hold the attention of today's seeker," McClelland says.

McClelland believes that Jesus not only died for the sins of man, but also for those of God. He says the sin of man is disobedience, whereas God's sin is ignorance. Through a reexamination of the four New Testament gospels, McClelland concurs that the apostle Paul sees this clearly through messages directly from the risen Jesus.

McClelland hopes that once finished with reading "Will the Real Jesus Please Stand Up!," readers will have a firm grasp of Paul's message: Jesus' death not only forgave mankind's sins, but also reconciled the world with God.
