Maureen Potts marks her debut into the world of literature with a journey into one of Canada's most pristine of summer playgrounds: the District municipality of Muskoka, Ontario. Summer in Muskoka: A memoir of the Potts' Family Cottage from 1962-1992 offers not only a slice of life perspective into the natural beauty of the Muskoka wilderness but also examines such essential human topics as family, relationships, and local tradition and culture, all in the light of the Potts family's experiences.

In this memoir of sorts, Potts describes her life at their family cottage on Badgerow Island in Lake Joseph, Muskoka, Ontario, Canada. She chronicles her family's growth through successive phases in their history on Lake Joseph, particularly how they learned to deal with the rugged wilderness of their island. This book vividly captures the zeitgeist of an era and also the enriching effects of belonging to an extended family.

An ode to the unwavering human spirit and the moments that give life its meaning, Summer in Muskoka tells a true story of hope, familial love and Canadian ingenuity unfolding against the backdrop of one of Canada's (and the world's) most beautiful vacation lands.

This book will be featured at the 2013 New York State Reading Association Book Exhibit in Albany, N.Y., on October 27-30, 2013. For more information on this book, interested parties may log on to http://www.Xlibris.com.
