Wellsburg, W.Va.

Somewhere in the midst of the beautiful, rolling green hills of Pennsylvania is a quaint town where life hasn't changed much as the people there are content with living simply. A group of women in the community struggle with growing older, losing loved ones and coping with loneliness and physical debilities.

"Look to the Hills: Book One of the West Hope Trilogy," by Mary Jean Bonar, is the first installment in her fictional Christian book series about a small town in Pennsylvania. The story follows this group of elderly women and illustrates their transformation from coping to hoping through God's perfect plan for each of them.

"I hope to reach out to as many people as possible through these books with the message of joy and hope that is acquired through living a Christian life," Bonar said. "God has a plan for each person living within his kingdom on earth."

Bonar is a church music director and established author trying her hand again at writing after successfully publishing her first book, "Overflowing with Hope," in 2008. She said, "One beautiful June morning while taking my daily walk, I heard a voice in my head and my heart that said, 'Go write your book.' I have been given gifts by God to do the work he has chosen for me to do."

The title of "Look to the Hills" comes from Psalm 121: "I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth."

Bonar said, "Life is not easy, but it is much more enjoyable when we can put our trust in the Lord."
