In "Madolix" (published by Trafford Publishing), author Justice Burnaugh introduces readers to Allan Brandt, a boy tasked with the arduous quest of rescuing his mother after the peoples of Earth are enslaved by a planet named Madolix.

"What inspired me to write 'Madolix'," says Burnaugh, "was my innate desire to unlock these distant corridors, and to give them life through the written word. When I think of my imagination, I see myself as a curious man with a skeleton key, wandering through a hall unlocking door after door just to see what lies on the other side. It just so happened that on the other side of one of those doors was a world named Madolix."

Something in Allan Brandt's life feels off. From his mother's antique shop in Westcliff, Colo., Allan watches blackouts happen all around the world and strange events are happening closer to home. Suddenly, a ruthless army of men raids his town, taking his mother captive and fleeing home to their dying planet, Madolix. It is up to Allan to travel to Madolix to rescue his mother and Earth before the human race is enslaved.

A science fiction coming-of-age novel, "Madolix" mixes elements of horror, adventure and spirituality together with a strong protagonist that readers will rally behind. "I feel that my readers will be able to relate with this defeated feeling," says Burnaugh, "and they might even find a piece of themselves reflected in Allan's character."
