From Luther Butler, the author of "Catfish Charlie" and "Buccaneer," comes the exciting story of the Butler family's settlement in the American colonies in the first of a 10 part book series,, "La Plata County Series, Book One: County Dublin and Blood on the Moon" (published by iUniverse), which is getting a new marketing push in 2013.

"The 10 books in La Plata County Series start from a copy of notes a distant Butler Grandfather left about my branch of the Butler family," explains Butler.

Divided into two books, "La Plata County Series, Book One" follows James Butler (Wilkerson), the destined Protestant ruler of Ireland, and his two sons, James and William Wilkerson. In "County Dublin," James flees Ireland to avoid persecution from the Catholics, who do not want a Protestant ruler. He flees to a relative's plantation in Barbados where he fathers a son, James, with one of the slaves. James is then made captain of a ship carrying slaves to the Virginian colonies. While there, he marries Mary Beckwith and has another son, William. Through his two sons, James creates a lasting dynasty that continues as the American colonies flourish.

In "Blood on The Moon," General William Wilkerson and James Wilkerson, Jr. travel west to Spanish Mississippi where the plantations are floundering because of the lack of horses. The brothers head to Spanish Texas for horses where they encounter Native Americans and hostile white men. Upon their successful return to Mississippi, William is given a large tract of land.

Filled with adventure and romance, "La Plata County Series, Book One" will have readers cheering on the Butlers to the end. Of his book, Butler writes, "Other books do not have the perspective on the history of the United States making that these books have. There are scenes that will chill the bones and others that will warm the heart."
