Leilani Faber desires to share her story of recovery from methamphetamine use and hopes that friends and family of a recovering drug addict will have an understanding of what their loved ones are going through. In "Vision of Hope" (published by Balboa Press), she gives hope for recovering drug users in having a better future while presenting a realistic picture of what it looks like.

Unlike other books on drug addiction, Faber's book focuses not on the dark side of addiction, but on bringing hope and optimism while acknowledging the difficulty of getting there. "Recovery is possible. A good life is possible. It isn't easy, but building a new 'evidence file' of who you are must be your number one priority if you are to create a life worth staying sober for," Faber tells.

"Vision of Hope" gives readers a glimpse into the life of addiction, which almost every family in every socioeconomic family deals with. According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, methamphetamine use increased in 2013, with 595,000 current users. "Today, there is nobody who doesn't know someone who is struggling with this problem."

Part of the foreword written by Laura L. Valenti, co-author of "Ozark Meth":
Vision of Hope is an important contribution in the growing number of stories by recovering addicts, for its well-written account in terms that are touching yet honest, in both the low points and high points of her story. Perhaps most significantly, Leilani Faber's life story brings us to a conclusion that includes a current life and an optimistic future that should make her, her children and her mother proud. It literally offers hope for anyone who has found their life severely impacted by meth or other drugs and demonstrates that despite the damage done by meth use, with hard work, redemption is possible and a new life awaits anyone willing to make that commitment.
