Perseverance is a necessary life skill that every child should understand. But teaching your children this valuable skill is not always so easy. How can parents start the conversation about the value of taking risks and never giving up in order to achieve their goals now, and to set them up for future success?

Enter Oogie the Bear, the star of the #1 Amazon Bestseller in the children's book category, Oogie the Bear's Rainy Day Adventure. Written by award-winning author Michael Weinberger, and featuring colorful artwork by commercial illustrator and fine artist Steve Bonham, this unique story teaches children and their adult reading companions the value and rewards of perseverance. It tells the story of Oogie, a little bear who, despite all the obstacles set in front of him, doesn't give up on achieving his goals.

Providing silly fun both parents and children will find pleasure in reading together, Oogie the Bear's Rainy Day Adventure is the perfect way to start talking about perseverance.

"Every night, my 4-year-old daughter and I would bond over bedtime stories," shares Weinberger. "One night I ran out of new books in her library and decided it might be fun if I wrote a story and had her fill in the blanks in order to make it her own. She loved it so much she wanted everyone to hear it. After reading it to her class, it was such a hit that the teachers encouraged me to turn it into a book!"

Michael Weinberger graduated from University of Pacific after earning his undergraduate degree in Sports Medicine. He then went on to the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, where he earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1993 at the age of 25. Weinberger returned home to Las Vegas and operated a successful chiropractic office until the fall of 2000, when a severe arm injury forced him to step away from his chosen profession. It was during his recovery that he began writing.

Weinberger enjoys writing, archery, martial arts, deep-sea fishing, movies and is a self-confessed "foodie." He lives in Las Vegas with his wife and two daughters where, when not otherwise engaged, he can usually be found shooting arrows into the garage from the custom archery bows he makes during his spare time.
