"We may live in a more tolerant nation, but there are still many LGBTQA members here and around the world who are at risk of violence from members of society that do not agree with the gay "lifestyle." For every success story, there is still extreme backlash from simple-minded people who do not understand the detriments they are provoking. Adam & Brian proves that the ramifications of a hate crime extend far beyond the physical scars and bruises. It's an important story to tell and one that will further promote human equality. At the end of the day, they are two people who are deeply affected by something that should never have happened to them." - Craig Donnelly

Often what defines us, is not the tragedy itself, but how we grieve and move forward in the aftermath. Adam and Brian are a gay couple living in New York City. One night, on their way home, they are brutally attacked by three strangers and sent to the hospital. The play begins with Adam and Brian's first time back to their apartment since the tragedy. What unfolds throughout, is not only how they recover physically, but how the damage has affected them emotionally. Both men cope in different ways and are at odds with how to regain their inner stabilities. The two men ultimately realize that this one event has changed who they are as individuals, and what that means for their relationship.
