Author Kikelomo Thompkins addresses how female readers can change their "bad-girl" behavior in her new self-help guide, "Bad Girls: Rise Above the Madness!: A Crash Course on Self-Improvement for Young Women" (published by Archway Publishing).

"Bad Girls: Rise Above the Madness" discusses the downfalls of popular and celebrity culture, showcasing the negative effects of reality television, gossiping, foul language and more. She hopes that, with this book as a guide, her female readers can learn to rid themselves of unhealthy and destructive habits and free themselves from things that hold them back professionally, emotionally and mentally.

"Having endured my own painful experiences, it is my depth of knowledge and understanding in dealing with personal growth, toxic relationships and having unprotected sex that inspired me to propose change," Thompkins says. "This is the perfect guide to assist women with transforming their lives by discussing relative issues affecting them daily."

An excerpt from "Bad Girls: Rise Above the Madness":

"If you are a BG, today is the day you need to start taking control. It's your life, Bad Girl. Do you know how much better things can be if you reflect, change, and cultivate a new woman in you? Are you ready to explore why you are so angry? Are you ready to address your behavior in a productive manner without fighting, name-calling, and talking loudly?"
