Julie K. Parrott celebrates the triumph of the human spirit in the recently released biography, "Cost of Truth" (published by Xlibris AU). This new book chronicles the incredible life story of Donna Gordon who overcame seemingly insurmountable odds.

Donna, a devout Catholic woman, spent three years as a novice and later postulant nun, before marrying a man who had trained to be a priest, sharing a thirteen year loving marriage and five children. However, life was not what it seemed when Donna discovered she was gay. This sadly meant her children never again lived with her, her mother was unable to accept her new life, and her marriage was annulled without her consent. In spite of her daily pain, Donna remained steadfast in her faith, becoming an inspiration for her self-acceptance, openness and most of all, her courage.

When Donna shared her extraordinary life, Parrott offered to write her story for her children and grandchildren to understand this exceptional journey. With the decision to publish, Parrott hopes it will also give voice to others who are experiencing similar changes in their lives and share a part of society which is not often made public.

Deeply moving, raw and inspiring, "Cost of Truth" is a story of how truth, honesty and courage is the way to happiness.
