A compelling story of romance, history and the clash of civilizations comes to life in Jonathon Chase's new novel, "Between: A Story of Africa" (published by WestBow Press).

Brilliant New Zealand physicist, Dr. Brandon Maine, is unexpectedly lured to German colonial East Africa by the beautiful and mysterious Rachel, a Bantu-Arabic historian determined to save her country from the rapacious politician Gabriel Iramo's threat of dictatorship and genocide.

Brandon's African adventure morphs into chaos when unlikely friends discover an enormous uranium field. The vortex of an Africa shackled by atrocities and the supernatural almost destroys him as the U.S. makes its interest in Africa known. To live the adventure and be true to its demands will take all Brandon has and alter the course of nations.

"We live between two unseen realities that determine our individual and national destinies," Chase explains. "Being blind to them is the deadliest danger of all, for ignorance and apathy merely intensify the outcome."

The spiritual insights, gutsiness and down-to-earth love of life within the pages of "Between" will draw readers into the story. Fans of Chase's new novel will look forward to his upcoming prequel.
