About the Author
John L. Bates spent many years as a senior manager with a manufacturing organization after an engineering education and some years in the oil and building industries. As a director, he controlled and further developed an international wing of the parent organization, servicing half the globe.

He has been married to his wife, Ruth, for 58 years. They have four children, all of whom are successful business persons in their own right. Bates is now retired and spends his idle time writing. He has written his biography, a business text book, and several short stories.
