As John Kaufman wraps up the 2013 promotional year for his new book, "Three Gold Coins or Too Young to Die This Rich!: A Mel Porter Dread Mystery" (published by AuthorHouse), he is gearing up for new marketing adventures for 2014.

"Three Gold Coins or Too Young to Die This Rich!" follows the adventures of two young teenagers from central Nebraska as they search for missing buried treasure. Their quest takes them across state lines and through old family history as they get involved in the twists and turns of detective work.

The novel touches on an array of topics, including the challenges of family dynamics, the intricacies of friendship and the significance of faith. In the upcoming year, Kaufman continues this theme in the book's sequel, "You're Not Dead until Somebody Finds Your Corpse!"

He will also be surprising lucky readers with free e-book copies of his first book. Kaufman will be distributing 70 BookStubs to randomly chosen readers.

Whether his fans are reading his first book or the upcoming sequel, Kaufman hopes they are both entertained and encouraged.

"I hope readers take away from my writing, a feeling of joy, along with a few personal questions about their faith and what they believe."
