John D. Bankston was among the survivors of the atomic bombing of Nagasaki during the Second World War, an incident that left him and many others suffering from indescribable pain. In his book "Invisible Enemies of Atomic Veterans: And How They Were Betrayed" (published by Xlibris), he gives voice to the victims of this horrific tragedy while shedding light on the effects of atomic fallout.

Part historical account, part personal narrative and part cautionary tale, "Invisible Enemies of Atomic Veterans" describes Bankston's experiences as a Marine who suffered a lifetime of illness from atomic fallout. The author has since been a passionate advocate for making the world a safer and cleaner place and his advocacy is at the core of this book.

"I want to inform as many people as possible worldwide on the grave danger that our universe is in from toxic pollution caused by nine countries excessively developing and misusing nuclear bombs and weaponry," Bankston says. "My book was written to educate and inform everyone to be a part in making efforts to cleanse our country, world and universe for all humans and living species as much as possible."

"Invisible Enemies of Atomic Veterans" is a relevant and incisive addition to the highly contentious discussion of nuclear weaponry and warfare.
