Author John Chatterton puts pen to paper in his new memoir, a story that puts forward what he believes to be a relatively unusual and successful tale. "My Journey: From The Bush To Banker And Back" (published by Xlibris AU) paints a vivid picture of the author's life back-dropped by scenic Australia and the banking world.

This soulful account tells the real life story of a young country lad who lived in an era that is totally unknown to the younger generations of today and who, with a basic education and through hard work, rose to lofty heights in Australian banking over a period of almost 40 years. He then retired to his bush roots, initially in beef cattle raising and later in wine grape growing.

The author's personal narrative also tells the story of drug addiction within the family; the tragic deaths of two of their children; and how the family dealt with these issues. Also, it depicts a long history of service to the community for which Chatterton has been awarded the Order of Australia.

"My Journey: From The Bush To Banker And Back" relates the journey of a man and his family, and their life in an Australia evolving from rural sufficiency into a globalised world. It is an insight into country life that is unrecognisable to the smartphone generation; and also a chronicle of a now vanished time in Australian banking.
