John B. Fuller Releases Memoir, ONLY THE GOOD DIE YOUNG

Author John B. Fuller was the middle child in a family of five boys and one girl. All but the author are now deceased. He was born and grew up in Nova Scotia and this is the colorful story of his life adventures.

Only the Good Die Young is a compelling memoir that tells all about Fuller's life beginning in his native country of Nova Scotia where he was born and grew up. He slipped out of high school when he was 17 ½ years old and instead of joining the Wartime Emergency Training Program (WETP), he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) and was immediately posted to Lachine Quebec to start basic training. He was later transferred to gunnery school and eventually became a flight sergeant air gunner.

After two and a half years, and the end of the war, Fuller was discharged and worked in various parts of eastern Canada. He travelled and played in several areas of the world including such places as South America, Central America, Europe, Australia, and parts of East Asia.

Only the Good Die Young will take readers on a trip down memory lane as John B. Fuller recalls some of his unforgettable experiences and many adventures in life. It is intended to be a work of nonfiction, but because of his age and sometimes selective memory, it can also be considered as an entertaining fictional read.

About the Author

John B. Fuller was the middle child in a family of five boys and one girl. All but the author are now deceased. He spent his early years in rural Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia, in the southwest corner of the province. When he was in grade 3, the family moved to the small town of Yarmouth. His happy and carefree life continued until he reached grade 10 when his obsession with the daily war news on the radio moved him to action. He left school and joined the RCAF at seventeen and one-half years of age. When the war ended in 1945, he was discharged as a sergeant air gunner and returned to Yarmouth for a short time. He worked at various jobs in eastern Canada and retired as vice principal at the Strait Campus of the Nova Scotia Community College. During this time, he joined the NS Conservative Party and continues to support conservative programs with some libertarian views. He would like something like the Wild Rose Party of Alberta to happen on NS. He fears that the NDP will eventually drag Canada into a socialist morass of welfare and share the wealth schemes. He was restless and generally considered time spent in school as wasted time and energy. As an adult student, he really enjoyed university and took credits at Sir George Williams and Francis Xavier University and won three degrees-BA, BEd, and a master of adult education. After retiring, he filled his days as a gentleman farmer and travelled to many places with his brother Robert. In time, he purchased a nine-meter sailboat in North Carolina and lived on it for seven years. He made several trips under power and a few short trips under sail on Pamlico Sound. He continued travelling up to the present and recently returned from a trip to the Dominican Republic. At age eighty-six, he has tentative plans for a trip next year.
