Birthed from a simple conversation with a colleague who encouraged her to write a teaching guide and share her vast wealth of long term care experience with others, Jane Gabbidon's "A Practical Guide to Qualitative Healthcare" (published by Xlibris) shares the author's vast wealth of long term care experience with readers.

This book takes all of the state and federal F tags/citations governing the nursing home industry and expound on them. It offers a simple yet comprehensive outline of what government regulators are looking for when they come in to survey nursing homes for compliance. With all the changes in the long term care industry, from QIS survey to dementia focus survey, this book provides our staff with a simple clear outline on what is quality care and how best to document it. This is a clear guide to families and residents on what to expect in the long term care experience.

"As a long term care provider, we have watched the face of long term care changed. Two of the big focuses right know is preventing re-hospitalizations of Medicare residents under 30 days and the new five star ratings applied to nursing homes," Gabbidon says. "These can only be achieved when staffs have a clear understanding of not only the care they are providing but adequate documentation."

"A Practical Guide to Qualitative Healthcare" leaves readers a clear understanding of the importance of not only providing the care but accurately documenting it in accordance with the governmental guidelines.
