Wingspan Press is proud to announce the release of James Lewis Martin's latest novel, Whistling Women. It is the story of Molly Slaughter, mother of six, who has just been diagnosed with cancer. Trapped in an abusive marriage, Molly withholds the news from her husband, and instead spends the next few days planning her death and recalling her youth and its lost loves. Only days later, she learns that her case is not terminal, and in a moment of clarity determines to seize control of her own life, free herself from her stifling marriage and seek out the man she has always regretted losing.

Martin's novel is a hymn to abused women and a story of personal redemption that reminds us that our lives are our own, and that it is never too late to make different choices.

Whistling Women is "the kind of book women will read and pass on to their friends."
