First time author James Daughtridge writes about the thing he values the most in life. By sharing the stories and the things he remembers about his beloved family through his book, "My Knowledge and My Memories of My Family" (published by Xlibris), he sheds light on the importance of family to a person.

This book is about what Daughtridge remembers about many members of his family and about the knowledge he obtained concerning them through various interviews and written sources. The book follows a certain order. Starting off with his immediate family, he describes what he remembers about his father, mother and only brother. He then goes on to narrate his life with his ex-wife and her family and then the only child they ever had.

Daughtridge shares his and his family's story because he believes that family is important, citing that it is an institution that will always remain and never die. For him, the memories and the lessons he learned through them will always stay in him, for those things made him into what he is today.

"What I want readers to take away is that life is a journey where you see great things that happen and ordinary things that happen to real people," Daughtridge shares.
