Author Alan Moore, who is best known for his graphic novels like "Watchmen" and "V for Vendetta," is slated to publish "Jerusalem," his second novel, in 2016. If Moore's past interviews are any sign, "Jerusalem" could clock in at over one million words.
"Jerusalem," centers on Northampton, England, Moore's hometown, and will combine historical fiction and fantasy. Moore says the novel is intended to "disprove the existence of death."
More has also mentioned the varying styles of each chapter. Various chapters are modeled after different things: one after a Samuel Beckett play, another written in "a completely invented sub-Joycean text" and another "somewhat in the style of Dos Passos." The book also includes appearances by John Bunyan and Buffalo Bill.
"Jerusalem" is scheduled for publication in the United States in fall 2016 by Liveright, an imprint of W. W. Norton & Company and Knockabout Comics will publish the book in England.
