The mechanism of health and disease has been a constant enigma to human beings. With this in mind, humans make it a point to maintain a healthy body and at all costs to avoid getting sick. Author Hong Son Cheung elucidates the reasons behind sickness and diseases, the workings of metabolism and presence of imbalance within the body with his book "The Mystery of Health and Disease."

Long years of working in the pharmaceutical industry have been the motivation in releasing this book. The author cites that humans easily get sick today and yet they are unequipped with the knowledge why they had acquired it. Changing eating habits and controlling what humans eat are keys to maintaining a healthy body. Inclusive of the topics discussed are common illness which have caused mortality rates in adults to rise (e.g. hypertension, heart attack and the like) and how these diseases could be avoided.

Written simply and without the medical terms that health professionals usually advise patients, Cheung expresses how people are clueless as to why they get sick and assures readers that there are answers to these questions.
