ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., March 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ Author Fertig says,"We have to face it, even if the Iranian Islamic Fanatics sign an agreement, they will never keep it. Israel has only one choice for its people and country to survive, it must take action NOW." What happens after the attack? Does the U. S. get involved? Will this be the beginning of World War III?

Michelle Stanley for Readers' Favorite reviewed the novel, giving it a 5 star rating.

"Quicksand (a follow-on to the Gathering Storm in the Middle East) is historical fiction by Robert Thomas Fertig. Vincent Ronaldo is married with kids, and has a successful computer software company. He becomes intimate with Eva, an attractive but deceitful woman accustomed to getting her way. Vincent makes a few business deals with questionable characters that prove disastrous to his career. He is entangled in a web of international terrorism involving C.I.A. agents, greedy bankers and politicians. When Vincent meets Anne, a beautiful double agent [in Iran and Monte Carlo], his life changes course again. Vincent wonders how he will extricate himself from [the pit] he has fallen into, and regain a normal life again.

Some persons will see danger looming, but still [get sucked] into it. That's exactly what Vincent does repeatedly in Quicksand. Robert Thomas Fertig combines historical facts and fiction in an interesting [perspective]. He uses original quotes from political speeches [including recent books by Hillary Clinton, Robert Gates, and quotes from retired Generals], and summarizes events and scandals that have embarrassed world leaders and shocked the world. Most of the setting takes place in Europe, and the author's book is very descriptive. His writing style is bold and well researched. He made me visualize countries and their cultures. Religion plays an important role in the novel as the conflicts involve three major ones. Readers will find the book thought provoking."

"President Obama could have prevented these Israel attacks, if he gave the Iranians a 'red line' that they could believe in. However, his earlier red lines quickly faded away in the desert sands of the Middle East."

"History will show that President Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, with their strategic blunders in Iraq, Syria, and Iran, have attempted to cover up their mess," the author concludes.

"The lesson from history is simple: One cannot make deals with the devil."

Quicksand and Fertig's other books are available on Amazon.com and major bookstores.
