During his three-year stay in Iran, author Henry Jay witnessed much of the culture and people of the Middle Eastern country, before and during the Iranian Revolution. His new novel, "Good Night Sweet Prince: Nightmare in Iran" (published by iUniverse), takes place during the upheaval of the Iranian Revolution.

Jay describes the events in 1979 Iran, detailing the enormous changes that took place within the country. He highlights the human interest of these events describing the poignant love story of an American teacher who falls in love with a member of the seemingly all-powerful Shah's Imperial Guard. Their romance is fraught with terrifying risk and danger and they share great joy and sorrow as the revolution progresses and explodes, trapping the star-crossed lovers in its tragic aftermath.

Jordan leaves her home in Schenectady, New York, to take up an English teaching position at Tehran University. Everything seems to be going well, until she begins hearing the names "Khomeini" and "SAVAK" whispered around the halls of the school. Soon, things begin to unravel. Jordan meets the handsome Ahmad Khosravi, and she feels a sense of security with him. When the revolution begins, though, Jordan is caught in a country in turmoil, with no hope of escape.

Though the love story in Jay's book is part fictional, he aims to portray the events of the revolution, as well as the historical timeline, as accurately as possible.
