Author Heather Gillis believes that the story of her son is a powerful one. She was writing initially for healing when her son passed away, but the journey and the messages she knows were just too great not to share. Discovering God's love in places she never knew existed inspired Gillis to write their story in "Waiting for Heaven" (published by WestBow Press) to bring hope and healing to others who are walking the difficult paths of life.

This story captures a mother's heart telling her story of her son who battled with a life threatening disease. It reflects the struggle and the devastation that comes along with the tragedy. Only through God's grace does Gillis discover how God uses tragedy to turn it into something beautiful.

"This book not only depicts a mother's heartache, but relates to others who have also been through something devastating, who are experiencing pain or struggle," Gillis explains. "It is amazing how God uses our tragedies to turn them into something beautiful, something only God can do. In this book, readers can relate to how pain and devastation can be crippling, the process after devastation can be grueling, and how amazing God's love is able to bring you through it all."

Through the publication of "Waiting for Heaven," Gillis hopes readers will realize that there is no pain without a purpose and there is beauty in the pain and struggle, in God's love a richness of life is discovered.
