Gwendolyn Stevens Announces LOVE, SUN, AND LIZARD POOP

After Gwendolyn Stevens' husband of 34 years died unexpectedly from cardiac arrest in 2005, she was devastated and unable to continue on with the life she was living.

She retired from her teaching position in the United States Coast Guard Academy, moved to a barrier island in Georgia for a fresh start and ended up finding new love when she least expected it.

"I felt guilty," Stevens said. "How dare I think about being happy when the love of my life was dead? Wasn't I supposed to be like Queen Victoria and mourn forever?"

An already accomplished psychologist and scholarly author, Stevens shares her unique story and journey to find happiness again in her new book, "Love, Sun, and Lizard Poop."

She opens up about finding a new love after the devastation of widowhood and the fun and frustrations of building a house together in the Caribbean.

"Although both of us were tentative, kind of like hermit crabs, we ventured forth, and so far it has worked," Stevens said. "[This book] is the story of our romance; the conflict, the laughter, the tears and the risks we both took."
