In "Snow On The Pea Soup: And Other Anecdotes" (published by AuthorHouse), which was featured at this year's London Book fair, author Gregory Randall shares some of his funniest and strangest stories collected over a 50 year career as an investment manager with a heavily stamped passport and a knack for attracting chaos.

"I tell them as it was, so some of them will annoy the important people," writes Randall.

Randall's anecdotes take readers all over the world, from Chile to the Cook Islands. Ranging from a paragraph to several pages, the stories are short and concise, never staying in the same place for very long.

"It's about the odd things which make up human life," Randall says.

An excerpt from "Snow On The Pea Soup":

"One day I was walking with my dog in the local churchyard when a lady came up to me and said, 'It's cowled.'
I immediately thought she must have seen the ghost of a monk. I couldn't see it, but said, 'How wonderful to see such an apparition.
Do you see ghosts here often?'"

About the Author
Gregory Randall spent over 40 years in investment management. His main interest has always been collecting anecdotes. These drew attention to the odder things that happen in life. Most are his own anecdotes, although some were told to him, or have come from the press. They helped defuse the stress of life, which Randall says is high in investment management as the stock market is the ultimate place where each new day is a surprise.
