CHICAGO

Author Gloria Mullons looks back at her 20s and offers readers a glimpse into her life through her new reflective memoir, "Goodbye Late 20's" (published by Trafford Publishing).

In her fast-paced, urban setting, Mullons strives to slow down and take stock of her experiences. Her writings touch on a variety of topics, including God, spirituality and poetry, and they encourage readers to appreciate what is truly important in their lives.

Filled with evocative imagery and prose, "Goodbye Late 20's" welcomes in a new chapter of Mullons' life: her 30s. She hopes her book both inspires and empowers her readers.

"We all have the power to change our life and live the life we want," Mullons says. "No more waiting on someone to fix your life; everything you need is within."

An excerpt from the poem "Choices," featured in "Goodbye Late 20's":

"Dear God,
Grant me the ability to make the right choice,
You have loaded me up with all the proper data,
Continue to stand by me and help me,"
