"Tag, the Farting Power Plant," is the first in a series of fun and silly science (available in English, Spanish, German and Swedish) books for early readers. Unlike most science books, the Silly Science Series engages the reader with colorful images and creative and funny animal characters we can all relate to. Maya is the smart young girl explorer that loves science and uses it to solve the problems she and her friends get into.

Excerpt from the book: "After every meal, Tag would run into the farting hut and do his magic while at the same time the farmers' machine would collect the methane energy from Tag and change it into electricity to power his family's house!"

Silly Science Series and the Power of Science
Adventures of "Tag, the Farting Power Plant" is Maya and Martin's big debut. What began as a fun and silly daydream story to explain renewable energy and to include our dog, Tag, has now evolved into a series. Maya and Tag are joined by their friends, Gigi, the Chihuahua, Spidey, the Scottish terrier, and BunBun, the bunny. Silly Science Series are fun and colorful picture storybooks that make reading them enjoyable and makes learning science easy for kids of all ages. Since Maya is one of the main characters, other young girls can see her as a strong and empowering role model that shows girls can enjoy science and be good at it!

"Tag, the Farting Power Plant" won the 2015 'Short Story for Children' award at the Marin County Fair in California.

About the authors:
Martin and Maya Thisner are a father and daughter writing team living in a small town in Northern California, with their dogs, Tag and Gigi (Spidey and BunBun do exist, but live nearby). Martin enjoys learning cool science facts and Maya loves botany and poking gooey things with a stick. Tamara Antonijevic is the illustrator, with over 30 book credits to her name. Maria Rosas translated the book into Spanish, Laura Kiel in German and Linn Hultgren in Swedish.

This first in a series falls under the "Environmental Sciences - Renewable Energy" category. Other books soon to follow in the Silly Science Series: biology (botany), physics, health sciences, nutrition, astronomy and chemistry.
