Two generations of the Leahy family lived through a century of interesting Australian and world history. Amongst their experiences include moving from Cobb & Co coaches and cattle wagons to supersonic jets and other big changes in all aspects of their lives. They also have experienced two devastating World Wars. In "Shirtsleeves to Shirtsleeves in Two Generations- Second Generation," (published by Xlibris AU) author Gerard Leahy focuses on the family's second generation.

The first generation's story in the first book covers the story up to author Gerard Leahy's father's death and his marriage to Kathleen Kenny amidst the chaos of the breaking up of his parent's relationship. This second generation story goes on to document how they went on to live a very different life in a now bygone era.

"This book is connected to the first generation life of our family, but it tells of a completely different life and times," Leahy explains. "It is a story of a generation living through and coping in its own way."

"Shirtsleeves to Shirtsleeves in Two Generations" vividly shows to readers the contrasting life and times of two generations of the Leahy family and how they were able to cope with the changes in their lives in a small, isolated community.
