Gary Fry, author and retired Group Production Manager at Anheuser-Busch, has completed his first book "Doug's Story": a gripping and potent chronicling of his son's life and travels around the world as a high functioning young man with Down syndrome.

On how he would describe the book and its message, author Gary Fry said, "I would like to give hope and courage as well as basic advice to family members who have someone with a disability in their family, to share knowledge with people who do not understand what a disability is about, and to provide entertainment to anyone else who reads this manuscript. Doug is the main man in this story but Doug's mother, sisters and I have led the charge, his work managers and friends have been amazing, and many kind people have been fortunate to cross paths with Doug and become part of his story."

Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Gary Fry's poignant tale is a creative and adventurous memoir filled with a plethora of emotion and a tone of honesty that is unforgettable.

Douglas James Fry enjoys sports; he is a NASCAR, American football, baseball, and professional-wrestling fan. He has met famous athletes and sports figures like Dale Earnhardt, Mark Brunell, Chi Chi Rodriguez, Andy Barkett, and more. Doug has also worked twenty plus years at Publix Supermarkets as a model employee, is an avid traveler who has been on countless cruises, a video game enthusiast, a wannabe sailor, a singer, dancer, and all-around showman. He has touched the lives of people who have been fortunate enough to have met and befriended him. Doug is a high-functioning young man with Down syndrome. This book chronicles Doug's adventures but also tells of a unique individual who is always outspoken, charming, and has a strong desire to be independent.

By sharing Doug's story, the author - Doug's father, Gary Fry- hopes to give inspiration and courage to families who have a person in the family with a disability and to educate those who do not understand people with disabilities. That in the end, the best way to help someone with a disability is to be a very patient coach, teacher, advocate- and friend.

Readers who wish to experience this inspiring work can purchase "Doug's Story" at bookstores everywhere or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play or Barnes and Noble.
