On Friday, September 16, 2016, starting at 10:30a.m., Gary Belsky, former Editor-in-Chief of 'ESPN The Magazine,' will be discussing his new book, "On the Origins of Sports, The Early History & Original Rules of Everybody's Favorites Games," at Temple Israel, 140 Central Avenue, Lawrence, N.Y.

In his new book, written with co-author Neil Fine, Belsky gathers the original rules, history and miscellany of the world's 21 most popular sports. By taking readers back in history to learn the lore behind these sports and how they have changed over time, they gives fans a new context for watching and competing in games.

Gary Belsky, former Editor-in-Chief of "ESPN The Magazine," is currently the President of Elland Road Partners, a consulting firm specializing in editorial and content strategy. Belsky is an adjunct professor of journalism at NYU.
