Gabriel Garibay Releases New Novel, VALKIRIE

Author Gabriel Garibay, born and raised in Mexico, compares his writing to the music of Bjork and films by Andrei Tarkovsky. He has fine-tuned this style over the course of 33 books and poetry, all of which have tackled different themes but often incorporate elements of Mexico and its history.

Garibay's latest Spanish-language effort, "Valkirie" (published by Trafford Publishing), follows a woman on a strange and psychedelic journey to stop the illegal drug trade in Mexico.

"The main characters are the ones with no name, the disappeared and a group of brave, bright and beautiful women," Garibay says of his book. "They are important to the story because women are the ones making a difference into the new millennium."

"Valkirie" follows a woman set on bringing down the Mexican cartel and the drug trade, in a way that Garibay says is far from conventional. Along her journey, the woman will encounter many strange characters, some of which claim to be angels.

"A dark, sometimes funny, indeed postmodern psychedelic-outer-space trip about Mexico's Illegal drug struggles and a woman who wants to solve it in a very non conventional way. It´s like being in Picasso´s Guernica painting," Garibay says of his book.

Garibay hopes that readers will walk away from "Valkirie" with an understanding that all people are one and that the "imagiNATION" is the best country to be in.

Gabriel Garibay was born in Mexico City in June 1967, the groovy-peace and love-year. He is a writer and occasional multimedia artist.
