As a grandfather, Wilbur Richards Sr. knows just how much a grandfather values his grandchildren and could well imagine the pain if some tragedy were to take them away. "Grandfathers against Drugs" (published by Xlibris) is about grandfathers whose lives are forever changed when drug related shootings took away their loved ones.

Two grandfathers lost their grandsons and an older gentleman lost his son. All were felled in the crossfire of a drug shooting. They, all three, meet and the bonds of their common tragedy develop into a close friendship. They initially tried to get over their tragic loss, but several months of telling each other stories has only led them to formulate a plan for revenge. In their mind, they have convinced themselves that their plan would actually save people. For such educated men, they have allowed their anger to cloud their judgment and control their lives. Drugs destroyed their happiness. Can they stop their anger from destroying what is left? The path to redemption may come at a great and terrible cost.

Richards' heartfelt writing resoundingly communicates the pain of losing a loved one and the anger that could so insidiously creep into the void such loss leaves behind. The characters learn, to their dismay, that a path paved with anger could only lead to more loss. The story gives the lesson of how good overrides evil as the protagonists find their way back to God and are granted a new lease on life.
