Michigan author Deanna Kahler has struck gold. Her book "From Pain to Parenthood: A Journey Through Miscarriage to Adoption" was awarded a Gold Medal in the 2016 Readers' Favorite International Book Award Contest in the Non-Fiction / Parenting category.

Readers' Favorite has become the fastest growing book review and award contest site on the Internet, earning the respect of renowned publishers like Random House, Simon & Schuster and Harper Collins. This year's contest featured thousands of contestants from over a dozen countries.

Since its release in 2013, "From Pain to Parenthood" has received three awards, as well as positive feedback from readers who have been touched and encouraged by Kahler's story. The book details the author's heartfelt and emotional journey to become a mother - from her devastating miscarriages to the eventual adoption of her daughter. More than just a memoir, it also offers coping strategies and resources for those facing similar circumstances.

"So many things resonated with me as I read the author's experience of losing a baby. I know this book will resonate with many women that have experienced this trauma in their lives," said Anna Del C. Dye of Readers' Favorite. "This book was written to tell you that you are not alone and that there is hope."

Kahler hopes to continue to make a difference in the lives of those struggling with infertility and considering adoption. In addition to writing "From Pain to Parenthood," she also shares her adoption experiences and insight as a regular contributor to Adoptimist.com.

"Knowing I am touching lives and inspiring others is the best reward of all," Kahler said.
