In his timely new manifesto, "After Occupy: What Next for the World?" (published by Trafford Singapore), author Frank Sykes summarizes the demands that were voiced by the recent Occupy movement and calls for continued action based on those ideas.

"The continued global domination of the 1 percent will ensure continuing crises and the economic, social, cultural and environmental collapse of nations and planet earth," Sykes writes. "Today's crises are not the result of accident or miscalculation but of the pursuit of power, crimes against humanity, greed and the mantra of 'neoliberalism.'"

With just over 120 pages, "After Occupy" is well-structured, compact and provocative. Drawing upon years of exhaustive research, Sykes outlines the action required to overcome the financial crisis, the real economy - or fiscal - crisis, the environmental crisis and discusses how to ensure sustainability for the planet.

"Even though the Occupiers have gone home, the problems they protested still exist, and the need to act is more urgent now than ever," Sykes notes. "In light of the current situation, what's next for the world? The answer is action."
