Frank Hendricks, a veteran, retiree, outdoors enthusiast and writer, has completed his first book "Tails From the Old Oak Tree": a vibrantly crafted work that details life's lessons through animal characters.

"The animals talk in the stories. That is how I explain the particular lesson of the story. Lessons like: family first, keep your word, defend the innocent, stand up for human (or animal) rights. All those corny old things that people seem to have lost touch with. Do you know any young children that are learning the multiplication tables today? Why waste your time? Just turn on the computer. Sometimes the old ways are better," said author Frank Hendricks.

Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Frank Hendricks' poignant tale is a compilation of short stories in which the author tells stories of the past.

Tails from the Old Oak Tree is a compilation of six different stories starring some of our animal friends that will teach us valuable lessons in life-kindness, teamwork, humility, and respect. Stories about realizing who your real friends are, making up with them in times of misunderstandings, and putting family first manifests the importance of family, friendship, and one's self. These simple stories will surely create new perspectives in your life.

Readers who wish to experience this creative and fun work can purchase "Tails From the Old Oak Tree" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play or Barnes and Noble.
