The awful event of September 11 scared millions of people. But, it was more than a scar on a nation; a wife was hurting for her husband.

In her book "Overcoming Loss and Embracing Hope," Kathy Trant tells a compelling story of life, love and loss. September 11, 2001 changed her life forever when she received the news of a terrorist attack on the world trade center. Thousands of people lost their lives, including her soul mate, Danny.

After her husband's death, Trant fell apart, slipping into a deep, dark depression.

"The death of Danny was the hardest thing I've ever experienced," Trant said. "The life I had come to know and love left as fast as the planes flew into the buildings."

Her book describes the love that Danny and she shared, raising three children together. After 9/11, she learned to cope with the situation she faced. To this day she continues on the path to recovery.

She hopes to inspire people facing similar hardships and to honor Danny, the love of her life.
